Lake Costalovara, “Wolfsgrubener See” in German, is named after the hamlet of Wolfsgruben and is nestled in a dense forest that reaches all the way to the lake shore.
Here you will find a true natural jewel where summer stories can be written. The picturesque small lake enthroned at 1,176 meters above sea level is one of the cleanest freshwater lakes in Italy and thus offers ideal conditions for a refreshing bathing experience. The sun-kissed sunbathing lawns at the edge of the forest speak for themselves – from June to September you can immerse yourself in a world of its own, offering active vacationers a dive into the refreshing South Tyrolean nature. A leisurely hike around the lake lets you breathe freely thanks to the best mountain air and really grounds you! Lake Costalovara can be reached all year round on foot via trail no. 15 from Oberbozen in 25 minutes. Or you can come by car and park in the large, free car park across the street. If you come in winter: The lake is also a real highlight in the cold months: Due to its depth and size, it always freezes completely and then invites you to ice skate, play ice hockey or curling!
